As a named graduate fellow, teaching responsibilities are removed allowing fellows to focus on research. The fellowship allowed me time to publish a dissertation chapter in a respected peer reviewed journal and complete my dissertation on time.
Department Rep to the Graduate Student Senate, Ohio University | 2016-17
Liaison and voting member for graduate students in the representative's home department to the primary governing body within the wider University. I additionally provided guidance to the Senate executive team during an administrative transition of the Original Works Grants program and co-organized a "meet-a-scientist" reception following the local March for Science.

Founded and led an official group for graduate students in my department. I Advised and mentored junior colleagues on all aspects of graduate academic life, especially through grant writing and data analysis.
